A school trip as a form of continuing education of teachers (Reflections about the Tatra scientific expeditions)

Abstract: The authors attempt to define the role of a school trip, as a form of continuing education of teachers. The paper presents the results of the survey conducted among different target groups: teachers, students and tour guides. It was noticed that school trips are seen by the majority of teachers as an opportunity for recreation and relaxation. Teachers emphasize an educational character of this activity. Only few of them emphasized a didactical dimension of school trips, which allows to enrich the teaching and learning processes.
