Streszczenie: Celem artykułu jest próba zbadania poziomu empatii wśród seniorów. Grupą badawczą Autorzy uczynili słuchaczy Uniwersytetu Trzeciego Wieku w Tarnowskich Górach. Badanie oparto na kwestionariuszu „Współczynnik empatii” z książki Simona Barona-Cohena Teoria zła: o empatii i genezie okrucieństwa. W części teoretycznej omówiono pojęcie empatii oraz scharakteryzowano działalność tarnogórskiego UTW, natomiast w części praktycznej zanalizowano i omówiono wyniki badania

Abstract: The aim of the article is to measure the level of empathy amongst the seniors. The focus group consisted of the elderly from the University of the Third Age in Tarnowskie Góry. The study was based on a survey „Empathy Quotient” from the book „Science of evil: On Empathy and the origins of cruelty”. The literature review presents the idea of empathy, activities of the University of the Third Age in Tarnowskie Góry, whereas the analysis outlines the results of the study
