Abstract: The article focuses on the category of ΄personal development΄ of a teacher-pedagogue. The study was based on Kazimierz Obuchowski's conception of creative adaptation and intentional human conceptions, the conception of life cycle by Daniel J. Levinson and the conception of self-knowledge by Mirosława Nowak-Dziemianowicz. The survey included 257 teachers-pedagogues, who helped to identify the patterns of personal development, and consequently to establish guidelines to work on teachers' personal development in the process of their education to work.
