The role of the University of the Third Age in Rybnik in counteracting the digital exclusion of seniors

Streszczenie: Celem artykułu jest próba zweryfikowania, czy zajęcia komputerowe, w których uczestniczą słuchacze Uniwersytetu Trzeciego Wieku w Rybniku, mogą przeciwdziałać wykluczeniu cyfrowemu seniorów. W części teoretycznej przybliżono kwestie związane z wykluczeniem cyfrowym osób starszych, a także opisano działalność Uniwersytetu Trzeciego Wieku w Rybniku. W części praktycznej zamieszczono wyniki badania sondażowego opartego o technikę ankiety przeprowadzonego wśród słuchaczy UTW w Rybniku w 2019 roku.

Abstract: This article attempts to verify whether computer classes attended by the students of the University of the Third Age in Rybnik may counteract digital exclusion among seniors. The theoretical part gives a closer look at the issues related to the digital exclusion of the elderly and describes the activities carried out by the University of the Third Age in Rybnik. The practical part contains the results of the survey based on a questionnaire technique conducted among UTW students in Rybnik 2019.
