Incidental e-learning versus self-education, incidental and con-nected learning – a description of a phenomenon

Abstract: Dynamic development of the information technologies impacts everyday activities of its users. New, constantly evolving, learners’ behaviors generate new methods of learning, what impacts the didactics. Easy access to wide sources of web placed information, creates new approaches to self-education. The article presents the new concept of self-education type – incidental e-learning. The concept is presented in the context of recognized learning theories: self-education, incidental learning and connectivism. Author tries to find resemblances and differences between the fresh described and deeply rooted theories and his new concept of incidental e-learning in order to place it in the proper educational context.
