Streszczenie: W otoczeniu wszechobecnej już rewolucji Web 4.0 oraz malejących środków na edukację konieczne jest poszerzanie wiedzy na temat crowdfundingu, a co za tym idzie świadomości co do możliwości tej formy finansowania nauki i edukacji oraz rozwoju tego rynku w Polsce. Stąd też celem artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na pytania: Jaką rolę crowdfunding pełni w edukacji i dla edukacji? Jak edukacja musi się dostosować, aby skorzystać z tej rosnącej puli dostępnych środków finansowych? Aby odpowiedzieć na tak postawione pytania, wykorzystaliśmy analizę opisową i analizę PEST. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań ankietowych oraz analizy literatury przedmiotu i danych statystycznych rynku crowdfundingu wykazano z jednej strony rosnące znaczenie tej formy pozyskania kapitału, a z drugiej wciąż istniejącą lukę w kontekście finansowania nauki, szczególnie w Polsce.

Abstract: In the face of the ubiquitous Web 4.0 revolution and diminishing funds for education, it is necessary to disseminate knowledge about crowdfunding. The awareness of the possibility to finance science and education from the croudfunding resources is crucial for the development of this market in Poland. Hence, the following questions arise: What role crowdfunding plays in education and for education? How does education need to adapt to take advantage of this growing pool of available financial resources? To answer those questions we used descriptive analysis and PEST analysis. The conducted surveys, the analysis of literature on the subject and statistical data of the crowdfunding market let us observe that crowdfunding is growing in importance, but there still exists a huge gap in the financing system for science and education, especially in Poland.
