Abstract: Based on ongoing research projects, analysis of lectures and discussions during the scientific conference: Aspirations – professional development – career, we outline changes in the work environ-ment, needs for new competencies, qualifications in the context of changing aspirations and their inade-quacy to their potential as well as problems of professional development.
